New Look for Thames Water Smartcard Scheme
Thames Water’s long-established Smartcard scheme for construction projects has
gone through a revamp this summer. From now, the scheme will be known as “Safety
Passport”.
Designed to help the business deliver projects efficiently and safely, the
online database with individual Smartcards is used across Thames Water’s
approved supply chain, ensuring that operatives possess essential, valid
qualifications to work on Thames’ projects and sites.

Launch of Skill-safe: the ideal online solution for construction clients
Reference Point has recently launched Skill-safe: the perfect online system for
monitoring the qualifications and competence of all construction operatives on site:
whether directly-employed or sub-contracted.
As well as tracking key qualifications and CSCS details, the system also allows
for the recording of site-based training, such as induction and toolbox talks.
Even better, clients who wish to link these records to Smartcards or ordinary ID
cards can do this with the standard Skill-safe system.
Furthermore, although Skill-safe is a complete and comprehensive system for managing
the workforce, it can also be tailored for any client requiring this.
The system is now available to entire companies for business-wide implementation
or can be purchased by individual sites or projects.
